How this is measured
- 10 questions a customer would actually type, asked 3 times of each engine. Answers vary between runs, so a single ask would move month to month for no reason.
- Every engine is asked with live web search on, because a model answering from memory measures what it remembers, not what a customer is shown today.
- Google AI Overviews is not included. Gemini above is Google’s chatbot; AI Overviews is the summary at the top of Google Search results, a different surface, with no interface we can measure through. It is probably the busiest one for local searches, so treat this as four engines rather than all of AI.
- Nobody can guarantee that an engine will mention, recommend or cite any business, and we do not sell that. What is for sale is the position on this board, which is a separate thing and is labelled as paid wherever it appears.
Why these numbers are not bigger
They are the same sample figures as the free demo, deliberately. We have never measured that holding a sponsored position changes how many people look at a profile, so showing a sponsored business with better numbers would be inventing a result in order to sell one. What a position demonstrably buys is the row above the list, labelled as paid, with the amount shown, which is what the card above reports.
